I have used this camera during last weekend shooting under daylight, indoor and low light condition and I am really impressed with camera. What I like: - Outside shooting: Excellent picture - Indoor shooting: Excellent picture even under auto mode. Apparently we cannot compare with DSL camera but the picture quality is much better than previous Sony digital cameras that I owned (See uploaded images) - Superior Auto Mode: a new feature that automatically reduce blur and noise after each shooting. - Sweep Panorama is great and time saving - 3D picture is a nice feature, I tried it with my 3D TV and it looks great, although it is not as good as you are watching 3D movie from Bluray but you actually can see some depths of the image. - 1080i movie recording is great even watching on 55" TV. - Can use both SDHC & Duo cards. -... When using it in a setting like this; IE turning it on and off, focusing and zooming, quick shots in an array of settings... she didn't do so well. The biggest issues was focusing. I was wondering why this camera wouldn't focus at times when the settings didn't change. Turns out that I had to turn the camera off and back on, almost like I had to reset it. NOT COOL! At a theme park like this where you need to get the shot on the fly, I was getting very frustrated. I still like this camera, but things like this reinforce that my next camera will be a DSLR. I know it's still a point and shoot camera but something like this is unforgiveable. I'll be heading to San Diego next and I'll keep an eye out for this. Oh... get another battery for this puppy as well. I took about 245 shots and two short videos before my camera went out. THAT was my fault... This summer our family trip was to the National Parks of Utah. For the point and shoot I brought along a little Canon that I had just bought a month earlier and used twice prior in test shoots. Unfortunately as soon as we got to Utah it was dead (don't know why). That meant a trip to Walmart and in about 10 minutes I was leaving with this little camera in hand. Therefore, I didn't do any pre-purchase research and so I was hoping that I didn't make a mistake. Luckily, I didn't. The camera is small and thin and attractive (in a camera sort of way). Controls are very simple to use but there are a lot of point and shoot advanced features like a really cool panorama feature that stitches all of your photos together right in the camera. Cosmetically, it is very nice looking and compact. I wanted a new camera and am fed up with Kodak - my most recent EasyShare lasted me 2 years before freezing and turning subjects into Casper the friendly ghost, so I decided Kodak quality isn't what it used to be. Whenever I think quality electronics, I immediately think Sony, so why not for cameras? I am not disappointed in my choice. The biggest reason I love this camera is that it takes quick shots. My 16 month old son does NOT like to pose or sit still, so if I want to capture the cute things he does, I need a quick response between pushing the shutter and actually catching the image on the camera. This camera impresses me on that front. I am not a techie, but as a simple needs kinda photographer, I say this is a winner! It has pretty decent stabilization, and produces fairly good quality shots in low lighting with a high ISO, for a point and shoot. It also has an interesting soft skin feature that is great for close up portraits, skin looks softer but not fake or overly digital. I took it to disneyland and although the shutter speed is a little too slow for action shots is pretty awesome in every other sense. I would definetly recommend it for the price. The HD video recording feature is awesome, its the first time I have been able to zoom in with a sony point and shoot while I was already recording, that itself was worth the price. I began using this camera out of the box, on its auto settings indoors; it takes some very impressive photos. I was happy to see that my min pin didnt suffer the usual "I am a vicious red eyed dog" look. To compare the usefulness of the flash, I took photos in absolute darkness and then used the flash. It was great to see that the flash really did its thing without the great wash out effect. The flash worked just as well in regular settings that required it. I used the other features for the photos I am going to describe in this paragraph. I work in the buildings behind the World Trade Center so taking pictures of the progress from our office is priceless. On this camera, the pictures are the kind that everyone who visits wishes they could take from this view. I bought it because it has an old school view finder and the display. Most of the cameras I have looked at have gone away from having a view finder. I have used many different cameras and on bright day it is very hard to see the display and line up a shot without a view finder. It is very easy to switch between the view finder and the display. It takes fantastic pictures and you can use rechargeable batteries if you want. Another thing that is great about this camera is the response time between pictures. My old camera took 10 seconds before I could snap another shot. This camera is almost instantaneous.
